Maid of Honor
"Sherve' and I met in the church choir when we were fourteen. Truthfully I'm not sure who spoke to who first first but we've been best friends ever since! lol She was the first person to show me how to ride the train and the bus all in one day (have not been back on one since but I'm glad I learned something new lol). I'm pretty sure I would've been somewhere lost in DC without her lol. That day was a time lol and the times continued even when we got older. Our mini weekend trips had a lot of hilarious drunken moments that wouldn't have been as great as they were if I wasn't with my day one. I have so many more memories but this was the most PG I could think of lol. She has been here for me since the moment we became friends and the fact that we live hours apart never stopped our friendship from growing and blossoming into what it is today. She is truly my sista from another mista and the lord knows I love her to the moon and back. I'm so happy for her as she enters into her next chapter of life. I wish the lovely couple all the love, peace and blessings that this world has to offer!"

"Oh, my twin brother. The first time I met you was in the…. nevermind. My greatest memory of me and you took place in 1999! Mommy and Daddy drove us from Columbus to Atlanta to catch a flight to New York - BY. OUR. SELVES. What did they do that for? That’s when I understood what being a twin was. At 9 years old we were on a flight by ourselves to the boogie down Bronx. You knew that if something happened to you I had your back and I knew that if something happened to me you had my back. We've been terrorizing Atlanta's airport ever since lol. I just want you to know that I’m proud of you and I am rooting for you. I have been in your corner since day one and will continue to be in your corner. Keep following God and leading your wife and your marriage will last a lifetime. I love you broski!"

"Hello, I'm Raven, one of the co-maids of honor and one of Sherve’s closest friends since about 2013. We met at Oglethorpe University, where I left with two things: a degree in politics that led to a nearly decade-long career in nonprofits, elections, and campaigns, and one of my best friends. I’m a community organizer passionate about protecting the rights of Black people and getting our communities civically engaged, and this year I also launched my work as a personal stylist. Sherve’ and I became sisters when she joined the sorority I was in at the time, and we instantly clicked. She had fire red locs, I had a matching siren-colored fade, and while we both cringe a little looking back, it really sealed our fate. She’s been a safe place for me ever since, the friend I can call with anything, who always listens without judgment. You may hear Mike call me otherwise, but he knows I’ll always be Sherve’s wifey first. I'll always be Sherve’s wifey first. I am so proud to stand beside her as she steps into this beautiful next chapter."

"Mikey and I met when I moved to Paulding County about 20 years ago. Long time right? At the time Mikey was a troubled youth, rioting in schools and menacing other people’s kids lol. No but seriously, back then I didn’t really talk to anyone much. I remember him and Miles being the only people I actually really talked to and that was huge for me. I was a quiet spark plug, willing to go off physically on anyone at anytime, but they welcomed me like there wasn’t anything wrong with me (crazy right?). But from there we all took off. We’ve had mini adventures together from times in Savannah when they went off to college to good ole nights out at the club. Throughout these years no one has had each others backs like we've had. We may get on each others nerves but one things a given, we’d give our left and right lung for each other. I guess in the end that’s how brothers are supposed to be. Congratulations to my forever brother and my sis-n-law Ve' Bae-Bae!"

"I met Sherve' in 2002 at Refuge Living Sanctuary. I never would have imagined that we would develop such a close bond. I was 22 and she was 7. We started with a sort of auntie/niece relationship but as she grew older we settled on cousins. I watched her grow from a little girl to someone I could trust and confide in. When she graduated high school she spent the summer working at a summer camp and living with me. Then that became our tradition. Most school breaks my living room became hers and I was thee happiest whenever she was there. My absolute favorite memories with Sherve' had to be the hundreds of times she would clean my messy room. The deal was she could keep any loose change or dollars she found. In her mind she could have fed a small nation with the "fortunes" she collected! But what I remember most was that she never judged and was just always willing to help because she loved me!"

"I just want to start off by saying uncle Mikey has always been there for me, especially when I needed someone the most. He's taken care of me like a second parent since I was born and never looks for anything in return. I’m grateful for everything he has done for me. My favorite moments with him are all of my basketball games as a kid, no matter what I knew I would see him in the stands cheering for me."
