The Tinder before Tinder, LinkedIn! It was your average workday when Mike received an email, “Someone has viewed your page,” better yet, Paige has viewed your page! It was my subtle way of the modern-day “sliding in the DM.” Not a moment too soon, Mike thought to himself, gee she’s cute! (probably) and decided he’d send me a message, somewhat professional with a casual conversation about our mutual connections. Smooth, very smooth! We chatted for a day or so, messaging back and forth, making no plans to see each other, conversation fizzled out, and reality of work settled back in. With just our luck, the relationship gods placed us at the same pub, on the same night. “Hey, it’s LinkedIn!” I told the girls, with a giant swig of my vodka beer (ah, to be 22 again) I marched over to his table (full of colleagues) “Don’t leave without me” were my famous last words, and the rest was history! Romantic? I think so. - Paige
There comes a time in every man’s life when he has to break the bank, buy a diamond, sweat it out for a few weeks, and finally get down on one knee to ask the love of his life to marry him. It was supposed to go down before a mid-March trip to Mexico, and when the ring got delayed, the next option was likely a mountain top proposal while skiing. But Covid-19 ruined those plans. So fast forward to Paige’s 28th birthday. May 6th, 2020. I had already bought her a sweet new bike for her birthday. Little did Paige know, I had other plans. At 3:30, I picked up a Keg dinner kit to help celebrate her birthday with a nice steak dinner. I, now starting to pace around the condo and sweating profusely, started cooking at 4:30, which Paige thought was odd. After a steak dinner, a bottle and a half of wine (mostly to myself) later, Paige asked Remington (our 16-year-old Shih Tzu) what he got her for her birthday. I knew this was my golden opportunity. 1,770 days after we first started dating, I (still sweating profusely and acting very weird, according to Paige) grabbed Remington and dropped to one knee. Out came the ring. I finally did it! We were engaged! - Mike
See you all in Fall 2021!
