We initially met in September of 2020 the day of my brother’s wedding. Cristian came with his mom to help me finish setting up the venue. I remember what he was wearing, and the sound of his voice, but don’t recall speaking to him. He said he was trying to talk to me that day but I do not remember that - I was really busy setting up the wedding. Time wasn't cooperating as we tried to meet up a few times. We didn't see each other again until his little sister Natalie’s birthday party in September of 2021. It was on September 11, 2021 - the first time I remember us actually speaking. He came over to me and was talking and I asked him to sit down beside me. He said I've been know to break a few chairs.... I told him your not going to go past the ground ha ha. We chatted the whole time and had wonderful conversation. Unfortunately, we didn't think to get each other's phone numbers. Three days later I get a message from my sister-in-law asking if she can send my number to Cristian and she could send his to me. Of course I said YES!

That day is my birthday and as always started my day grateful, hopeful and excited for what the new year would bring- little did I know that was the day Cristian would surprise me. Days leading up to this day Cristian had asked what I wanted to do for my birthday- I really couldn’t think of anything other than dinner and cake. :) The day of, Cristian kept asking what was I going to wear, it seemed odd that he was so concerned but I was like a dress and my cowgirl boots. He then asked if I wanted to go take pictures at the beach - I had said yes since I love the ocean but didn’t go since it started to rain. We went ahead and met up with the family for dinner at Taco Mundo. Dinner was great and it was time to go but then I noticed Cristian wasn’t at the table anymore. I had a moment and asked myself is today really the day…as we were getting ready to leave the restaurant my in laws asked for us to walk over by the intracoastal waterway to look at the boats and it was then I was told to cover my eyes..silly me and of course a couple drinks in giggling asked why did I have to cover my eyes as I started walking. My Father in Law, Luis, said come on you will see..and then I hear ‘La primera cita’ by Carin Leon playing and I’m told to uncover my eyes and I see a candle lit pathway with rose petals that led to Cristian standing holding a ring-box on one hand and bouquet of red roses on the other - I couldn’t believe my eyes..as I got closer he then got down on one knee and asked ‘Will you marry me?’ Of course I said YES!
