One of our favorite traditions, whether going abroad or to our favorite restaurants, is to collect and date a postcard to document our visit. We started gathering postcards at the very beginning of our relationship. With each new postcard, a new memory, we are thankful to share this tradition with family and closest friends. To make it more special, the artwork on this postcard was painted by the bride-to-be! The painting depicts our wedding venue in the monochromic color scheme of the wedding and the clock points sharply at 4:20, the date of the wedding.
We first met in Montessori at the ages of 3 and 4 years old and continued to grow up together at the same school. While maintaining mutual friendships, we ran in the same circles. Though going to colleges in different states, we reconnected when we moved back to San Antonio around the same time! As young adults, we became very good friends and we were inseparable! Our friends always knew that if one of us was going somewhere, it was likely that both of us would show up together. It wasn’t until around Joey’s birthday in 2021 when we realized that we should be together! We went to the Bar 1919, where a kind stranger sitting next to us kept saying “y’all are such a beautiful couple”, and that’s when we realized we should give it a try. We’ve been together ever since! After countless trips, welcoming a beautiful baby, and many special moments - we are finally getting married!
