Maid of Honor
Sister of the bride. She's got it all, the best hair, a contagious laugh and a love for spontaneous adventure. She's kind, loyal, generous and when she was 5, surprisingly easy to convince to eat anything from lady bugs to dog food. Luckily, her taste in food has improved since then and Amy is always the first person I go to for advice on food, fashion, or life in general. I am BEYOND excited to have Amy by my side on my wedding day.
Best Man
Brother of the Groom. The obviously more athletic but less tough version of myself. Known for his hops, epic guitar hero solos, and once paying me $1 to pee my pants. Despite ruining the height ratio of the wedding party, it will be incredibly exciting to have him stand next to me on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Best friend, next door neighbor, and basically sister of the bride. Abby and I met when Abby moved in across the street in sixth grade. We became were instant friends over love for weekend adventures, icee's in the summer, and the need for cute glasses to see what's in front of us. Abby constantly brings out the random and spontaneous, adventure seeking side of me. Whether it is a random canoe trip or hiking Pike's Peak, Abby is the friend who is always by my side. I cannot wait for Abby to stand by my side as I start a whole new kind of adventure.
Best Man
Because best friend is an understatement... Brother of the groom. Tom and I often joke about how "we just became friends last week"...thank goodness that's not true. Tom is one of my oldest friends and has been there to provide endless amounts of advice, jokes, and tears. It's a no brainer he will be there next to me on the day I get married.
Bridesmaid
Best friend since 1st grade and basically sister of the bride. Just the sweetest friend you could ever have. Since the first day I met her, Tori has always had the kindest heart and the best laugh. You can find the two of us on Monday nights eating cookies and watching The Bachelor, texting throughout the week about outfits or ridiculous things that happened, and laying out all summer. I couldn't imagine navigating elementary school, middle school, high school, college, or this past year of adult life without Tori. The. Best. Can't wait for her to stand with me on my wedding day!
Groomsman
Because best friend is an understatement... Brother of the groom. We met as two 6th graders doodling on the same hallway desk for students who get kicked out of class...the rest is history. I have been to his house 1,000,000 times, beaten him in Super Smash Bros. four, and died countless times as his Donkey Kong partner. Memories upon memories, can't wait to make another one as he stands with me on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
A roommate of the bride during her senior year at Wheaton. Paris is the most wonderful redheaded and fun-loving friend. A lot of my habits and favorite things are attributed to Paris. Without Paris I wouldn't spend long car rides eating multiple bags of hot Cheetohs. I would not have to have a cold Coca Cola at least once a week during the summer and I definitely would not have the same tastes in Podcasts. Paris knows me on a whole different level that only a real ginger could understand. So glad this girl from Missouri became my roommate my senior year. Couldn't imagine life or my wedding day without her.
Groomsman
Because best friend is an understatement... Brother of the groom. Joe and I are frequently asked if we are brothers. We oftentimes are stuck laughing at literally nothing for minutes on end. We both would willingly drive from LA to Wheaton and back for no reason at all. We dressed up as two giant Oompa Loompas at YoungLife camp, and then shared the Gospel with a bunch of High School guys. It's been a blessing to have Joe in my life and its a blessing for him to stand up with me at my wedding.
Bridesmaid
3 year roommate and forever friend of the bride. Ways I can describe Kylie: DJ Kyle, off-beat dancing champion, Chick-fil-a fanatic, adventure seeker, Razor scooter extraordinare, driver of Sharon, fun-loving friend, pro golfer, passionate servant, and faithful sister in Christ. All of these just scrape the surface of the amazing person Kylie is. There is nothing like have a friend that walks beside you throughout all the highs and lows of life. Kylie is a friend that will be by your side throughout it all. Couldn't imagine my wedding day without her.
Groomsman
Four year college roommate of the groom. I'm not sure another human being has spent more time with me than Ben. I mean we slept in the same room for 4 years straight. Endless hours on the practice field, at games, and even more in the training room. Ben has truly been a God-given model of perseverance through endless trials. His impact on my life cannot be explained in words. He doesn't have to dance, but he has no choice but to stand with me on December 30th.
Bridesmaid
2 year roommate and forever friend of the bride. I met Mikayla freshman year at Wheaton and have been friends ever since. The only way to describe Mikayla is pure joy and spontaneity. She is the life of the party and the first and last on the dance floor. Mikayla has a joy and energy that is unmatched. She constantly pushes me to love and care for others in ways that I would not have thought of. I don't know what I would've done the last five years without Mikayla's constant show tunes, spontaneous dance parties, crazy ideas, and faithful friendship. She's the best and her husband, Max, is pretty cool too. Couldn't imagine my wedding day without her.
Groomsman
Former roommate and teammate of the groom. Curtis is another outstanding model of how to persevere through trials. Arguably the hardest working guy I know as well as one of the most committed friends. Curtis played quarterback and I was his offensive lineman. One of the greatest joys of my life was to block for Curtis after he had to take a year away from the game.
Bridesmaid
3 year roommate and forever friend of the bride. Close friend, lover of sweets, and amazing athlete. Aafke is the friend who will never let you win a round of banana grams but makes you better for it. Aafke and I met our freshman year through when neither of us were assigned form rooms for the following year and we ended up in a quad together along with Kylie and Mikayla. This started years of hundred of hours of laughter led by Aafke's fun-loving spirit, competitive nature and love for musicals. Couldn't imagine my wedding day without Aafke.
Groomsman
Former teammate of the groom. The only guy who is wholeheartedly a bigger momma's boy than me. Theo remains to be the most sincere, considerate, and selfless man I know. He constantly seeks to serve others and is always looking to have authentic conversations. Uncle Theo sure sounds nice. P.S. Everyone who reads this needs to hold him accountable to naming his first son's middle name Jonathan
Bridesmaid
Friend and teammate of the bride. Hannah and I played 4 years of Wheaton Soccer together. We spent many days and nights on the field, in the training room, and in coffee shops together. Hannah is a wise, perceptive, sweet and fearless friend. Some of my favorite memories with Hannah were riding on the bus to games together and Wheaton's French Market on Saturday mornings. I absolutely loved playing beside Hannah, ending absolutely drained and exhausted but seeing her smile as we left the field. Hannah is a committed life-long friend who I cannot imagine my wedding day without her.
Groomsman
Former roommate and teammate of the groom. No doubt God had a plan in having Nick and I to be friends. As housemates, I would often look across the hall and see Nick at his desk, reading his Bible. Day in and day out Nick reminded me to live a life in pursuit of Christ. He frequently offered time out of his crazy schedule to sit, listen, and provide sound advice. God' plan was to provide me with a truly committed, life-long friend, I am sure glad He did... plus, I get a free steak dinner.
Bridesmaid
Younger sister of the groom. Olivia has a sweet, gentle and caring personality but can absolutely hold her own against her brothers. I have loved getting to know her over the last few years. Her stories of growing up with as the only girl and her reactions to the food her brothers threw or where her brothers used to pee makes me die laughing every single time. Her passion for her family and adventurous take on life are contagious. I can't wait to gain an amazing sister and make more memories in the years to come. Jon and I couldn't imagine our wedding day without her!
Groomsman
Former teammate and small group member of the groom. Nate would probably disagree, but he has given me way more than I could ever give him. Another strong model of perseverance, toughness, and commitment. Nate has showed me how to be steadfast through trials and what it means to seek justice for the vulnerable around the world. It means the world to me that this guy will be on the stage with me at my wedding.
Personal Attendant
Friend, mentor, and basically sister of the bride. I met Sarah when she became my small group leader at church. At the time she was a cool and collected freshman at the University of Illinois and I was a nerdy, conscious sixth grader. Sarah spent countless hours listening, advising and pushing me towards Christ. After I graduated from High School Sarah and I went from small group leader and student to lifelong friends. She became part of the family and my parents even refer to her as their "adopted daughter". Sarah helped me train for soccer in the summers as my running buddy while also using that time to talk and catch on the year. Love spending every minute I can with her. Can't imagine my wedding day without her.
Usher
Former teammate of the groom After meeting Sola, I wouldn't have guessed this guy would turn into one of my best friends, but I sure am glad he did. Sola is the greatest athlete I have ever been around and at the same time the least willing to admit it. It was amazing to see Sola turn into a battering ram every Saturday afternoon, good thing I planned my wedding on a Monday!
Personal Attendant
Forever friend and mentor of the bride. I met Julie (Juice) when she became one of my soccer coaches as a sophomore in high school. She has this amazing and unmatched ability to connect with others and share the truth of Jesus. Julie has taken many, many hours to listen, encourage, support, advise, and walk through life with me. I would not be the person I am today without Julie and her mentorship. I couldn't imagine my wedding day without her.
Usher
Former teammate and roommate of the groom. Sam has always been someone I just want to be around. His laugh, absurd comments, and access to the latest rumors are some of his many priceless qualities. More importantly, Sam is a guy who is willing to do whatever it takes to make the people around him feel cared for.
Usher
Former roommate and teammate of the groom. Ty is another guy who is always there to offer his time for advice and prayer. He is a committed teammate and leader, willing to do whatever it takes to make the people he cares about happy. Also extremely willing to do something crazy to get the guys fired up. I've always got this guy's back(side).
Flower Girl
Family Friend of the Bride!
Usher
Close friend, teammate, and former roommate of the groom. Once the dance floor opens, watch out for this guy (Seriously, his flailing arms might hurt you). Lover of Zelda, Polar Pops, and late night Pizza. Most importantly, this guy brings the most sincere joy to every room he enters.
Flower Girl
Officiant
Oldest brother of the groom. Few people had a bigger influence in me getting to Wheaton College as my brother Adam. Through God's plan, I saw a change occur in his life that I was unwilling to allow my high school self to go through. Adam has been a consistent example for what it looks like live your life for Christ and lead a family in pursuit of Him. I cannot put into words what it means to have a brother officiate my wedding.
Flower Girl
2nd Cousin of the Bride
Ring Bearer
Nephew of the groom.
