Question

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

Yes! We think that kids bring so much fun and joy to any special occasion, and our wedding is no different! Quite a few of our favorite people have welcomed newborns into their families recently, so we want them all to be included in our special day! While we encourage our friends and family to seek childcare for the night so that Mom and Dad can have a nice, relaxing date night out without the stress of monitoring young children, we wouldn’t want any of our guests to be unable to attend our wedding in the event that they can’t find a sitter. We will have kid-friendly meals for them to enjoy Friday night, such as fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. There will be changing tables available in the women’s bathroom of the reception space for your convenience. We just ask that you keep a close eye on your kids to ensure that they do not disrupt any of the venue grounds (flower beds, etc.). Also, if your kids become a bit noisy or disruptive during the ceremony, use your own discretion to remove yourself and your child from the ceremony space during that time, but do not feel obligated to! We welcome the noise and everything else that comes with your kids! Children are included in our guest count so please indicate on your RSVP whether or not you will be bringing them so that we have an accurate headcount.

Question

Do I need to bring cash?

Answer

No! We are offering an open bar that will serve beer and wine (no liquor) as well as a food truck which will be serving specialty coffee drinks (made to order), teas and lemonade, and ice cream sundaes. All drinks and treats are on us!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We are asking our guests to RSVP by March 1, 2025! Please remember to RSVP to the rehearsal dinner AND wedding, if applicable. Remember to include the number of guests you are bringing with you, if applicable.

Question

Do I get a +1?

Answer

Please type your name in the RSVP section of the website to search your invitation. When you do this, the names and number of guests you are permitted to bring with you will be listed under your name. If no name(s) appear under your name, that means you do not get a +1. We ask that you please respect the number of allotted guests that you are provided so that we stay within our guest count limit. Please also RSVP accordingly for the number of additional guests that plan to attend with you.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes we have a wedding registry on Amazon!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

This is still in the works, but the plan is to have a party bus transport guests to and from the hotel and the venue. Details to come.

Question

What accommodations are being made since the wedding is on a holiday weekend?

Answer

Due to certain unforeseen circumstances, our wedding day happens to fall on Friday of Easter weekend, meaning our wedding day is on Good Friday. We know not all of our guests practice Christianity, but we are aware that many of them do. Our wedding ceremony is early enough in the day on Friday so that those (guests who are local) who want to attend Good Friday service Friday evening may do so after the ceremony and return for the reception later in the evening if desired! Additionally, we will be providing a non-meat option for dinner for those who do not eat meat on Fridays during lent (spoiler alert: it’s baked ziti). Additionally, we hope that by having our wedding on Friday rather than Saturday that weekend, anyone who wants to attend Easter Sunday service on Sunday morning at their home church will have the whole day on Saturday after the wedding to travel home.

Question

How do I ensure I get the hotel room group discount?

Answer

We have blocked rooms at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton - Lexington/Columbia (4751 Sunset Blvd Lexington, SC 29072) and the Wingate by Wyndham - Columbia/Lexington (108 Saluda Pointe Court Lexington, SC 29072) Reserve your room(s) before March 17, 2025 to get the discounted rate! See the “Travel” tab of this website for more details and instructions on how to book your room(s) at the discounted rates. We ask that all of our guests from out of state stay in the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton for the night/weekend for the sake of convenience and simplicity. We also may want to get together at times throughout the weekend and it would be easiest to do that if we are all staying in the same hotel. Of course, if for financial reasons you want to seek a different hotel that may be cheaper, you are more than welcome to do that. Another hotel option in the area is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Lexington (325 W Main Street Lexington, SC 29072)

Question

Is it an unplugged ceremony?

Answer

No, phones are welcome during the ceremony as needed. However, we ask that you put phones on do not disturb or silence mode while the ceremony is taking place to minimize disturbance. Also, if you choose to take pictures during the ceremony, please try to be as nonchalant with picture taking as possible so as to stay out of the way of the professional photographers and videographers.

Question

What is the dress attire?

Answer

Formal/semi-Formal (no jeans)

Question

Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Please refer to your RSVP on the wedding website to see what events for the weekend you have been invited to. If you are on the guest list for the rehearsal dinner, both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding will appear under your name when you type/search your name. You will also receive an invitation in the mail which includes an invitation for the wedding on Friday as well as a separate invitation which indicates that you are invited to the rehearsal dinner on Thursday if you are invited to the rehearsal dinner. Please RSVP accordingly (please include which event(s) you are planning to attend so that we have an accurate guest count for both nights).

Question

Is BYOB allowed?

Answer

We ask that you please do not bring outside alcohol to the wedding since it is clearly stated in our contract with the venue that if outside alcohol (or drugs) are brought on site, the venue managers/owners reserve the right to remove the involved guests from the event or have the entire event shut down immediately, so please respect this rule!

Question

What should I wear to the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Semi-formal/semi-casual (jeans are okay)

For all the days along the way
