The weather in Great Smoky Mountains in August is pleasantly warm with some humidity. You can expect average highs of 85°F (29°C) and lows of 63°F (17°C).
The ceremony will be outdoors, but in case of rain the venue has a backup location indoors. The cocktail hour and reception to follow will be indoors/covered with dancing to follow outdoors under the stars pending good weather!
After the ceremony, the wedding party and immediate family of the bride and groom will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the designated cocktail hour area where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
We will be providing a shuttle service to The Trillium Venue from Parkside Resort beginning at 3 p.m. on the day of the wedding. Please check the "Travel" tab of this website for more detailed information.
If you should decide to drive yourself to the venue, there is plenty of complementary parking available onsite at The Trillium.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out.
Yes!
We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to post pictures using our wedding hashtag #BecomingBurkhart so we can see them, too!
We’ll be serving light snacks during cocktail hour, followed by a delicious dinner, and of course dessert.
We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary needs.
Absolutely! A full open bar will be available at the cocktail hour and reception to follow. We will also provide beverages for our guests at Thursday's Welcome Party and Saturday's Post-Wedding Day Bash.
