We're getting married!

After a few months (or a bunch) of Katie eyeing Caleb in the library, she finally worked up the courage to message him on Instagram.... about microbiology. Immediately, she had found the way to his heart and they hit it off from the start. A week later they enjoyed their first date in Downtown Wilmington enjoying some Kilwins ice cream, talking about the military, healthcare, God, family, and the universe. It was at that moment (or maybe the moments after when Caleb got lost driving Katie home) that they knew they both had found someone special.

Schemes. Lots of them. After looking at engagement rings together, Katie spent months trying to figure out every detail of Caleb's engagement plans. Caleb preserved through months of interrogation from Katie and planned the most special weekend trip to Washington, DC. With the help of Caleb's close friend, they were able to distract Katie long enough to get her to the Constitution Gardens, overlooking the Washington Tidal Basin. With a crowd of locals looking on and with a signal from Caleb's close friend, Caleb got down on one knee and proposed to a VERY surprised Katie. Miraculously, a professional photographer was there to capture a moment they both will never forget.
