Lex and Kyle met at Utica College, when Lex was a junior in undergrad, Kyle a sophomore. They were both at resident assistant training together and they also conveniently loved working out. Lex discovered that she could ask campus safety to unlock the gym for her so she'd be able to workout while the gym was closed (since RA training went from 8-5 and it was still summer, so the rest of the campus closed at 5). What she didn't know is that Kyle and his friend Nick would also join her at the gym. Kyle came up to Lex at the gym and asked her if she worked there. She said no and that she was actually a Lead RA, making her Kyle's boss. For the rest of RA training, Kyle and Lex became better friends. (Ask Kyle and Lex about Lex's RA skit acting kills, it's a wonder Kyle didn't run then!) They started to date shortly into the school year. They were together during some of each other's toughest life events, from Kyle being diagnosed with a heart condition and being medically discharged from Army ROTC, the start and end of physical therapy school and everything in-between.
Kyle and Lex got engaged on their white coat ceremony night. Kyle carried the ring in his suit jacket all night (one of his friends even saw that he had something in his coat and knew what was coming!). Lex and Kyle received their white coats and after the ceremony, Kyle asked Lex to go upstairs to the courtyard for pictures. Lex really didn't want to because all of her friends were downstairs, but Kyle insisted, so they went, along with both of their families. They took photos together and, since Lex always makes Kyle "turn around and take a picture" of their backs, he asked Lex to take a photo like this with him. She should have known something was up because he hates taking photos like that! That's when he got down on one knee and asked Lex to marry him, in front of both of their families.
While 2020 was one heck of a year, instead of postponing their date, Lex and Kyle decided to get married exactly how they imagined it; on top of a mountain with their nearest and dearest. Their wedding weekend was perfect; it started off with a family dinner (which doesn't get to happen often with their families living states away from each other). On wedding day, they all gathered at Heather & Steve's (Kyle's sister and brother-in-laws home) for brunch while everyone got ready. Then they all boarded a limo bus and headed to Franconia, NH where they started the best hike of their life. Their reception was small back at Heather & Steve's, where Lex and Kyle had their first dance and Lex & her dad had theirs. They continued their wedding celebration the next day with a beach day at the ocean. Their wedding was everything they ever wanted it to be and was so true to them. They wished they could have everyone there and are so excited to have an after party this summer.
Lex and Kyle have spent most of their first year of marriage managing their physical therapy clinic in Bedford, NH. They are working on buying their first home together (which has been a nightmare in this housing market!) They're excited to eventually have a place to call their own.
