The Beginning

09.06.2022

Meeting as co-employees working together in municipal government, Marah working as a City Planner and Paul as a Code Enforcement Officer. A couple of months into knowing each other, Marah became sick and became unable to complete much needed outdoor chores at her home. Paul, overhearing that she was sick and in need of help, volunteered to come perform the yard work for her. Unexpectedly, overtime, the friendship developed into the two of them having a genuine interest in one another. Paul expressed his “overwhelming feelings” for Marah and interest in going out on a date.

The First Date

12.23.2022

Paul and Marah’s first date occurred over an unusually frigid Christmas holiday weekend in Georgia. Paul took Marah to one of her favorite restaurants, The Orient on their first date. The following day, Paul took Marah to a candlelight Christmas Eve church service at Restoration Church in Roswell, GA. In the parking lot of the very same church, they shared their first kiss. After the service, Paul surprised Marah with a trip to see Christmas lights around town. Paul made sure to make every detail of the Christmas Holiday special for Marah, as she could not travel home for the Holidays. Paul and Marah spent Christmas evening together. A mutual decision was made that same evening to begin a dating relationship.

The “Yes” Day

09.16.2023

Fast forward to September 16, 2023, Paul and Marah went to dinner at one of their favorite local restaurants, Cherokee Chophouse. Paul and Marah enjoy, and often take, long drives around town, so it was no surprise to Marah when Paul started driving around town after their meal. Their drive took them to the City of Roswell City Hall, where the two met and worked together. Paul walked with Marah across a bridge where he slid off one sandal, knelt down on it (to keep his knee clean), and proposed to her. Of course, Marah cried and said “yes!” Paul and Marah are excited to spend the rest of their lives together and celebrate their love for each other with their friends and families.
