The oldest neighborhood in the city boasts great architecture, food, drinks, music, and so much more. Some of it's highlights include, but certainly not limited to St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square (see below), French Market, Bourbon Street, Cafe Du Monde, among others.
This neighborhood is one of the few reasons why we fell in love with New Orleans and decided to have our wedding there. We highly recommend checking out the historic mansions and gardens that give this neighborhood it's name. Feel free to enjoy boutiques, shops, and cafés along Magazine Street, which is a great area to go for a run or walk. The city's iconic street cars run down St. Charles Avenue, which will take you towards Tulane, Audubon Park, and Audubon Zoo.
Set in the heart of the French Quarter overlooking the Mississippi River, Jackson Square is one of New Orleans' most recognizable landmarks. Don't forget to meander over to the riverwalk along the banks of the Mississippi.
