Things To Do

When in Colorado... do as Jenny and TJ do! Here are some highlights

First Watch

7830 West Alameda Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80226

Our favorite breakfast spot! If you cant make it to this location, there are plenty of other's in the area. Jenny's Order: The tri-fecta (eggs scrambled, chicken sausage, chocolate chip pancake) with a side of potatoes. Diet coke to drink, obviously TJ's Order: 2 chocolate chip pancakes on a square plate with an orange juice

2nd & Charles

14500 West Colfax Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80401

A massive media store! Like truly, huge. 2nd and Charles has both new and used media including books, vinyls, DVDs, games, puzzles, and trinkets. TJ and Jenny love hitting 2nd and Charles first then heading to Barnes & Noble across the street for a nice little book store day!

Puttshack

2813 Blake Street, Denver, CO 80205

A go-to date night spot! Puttshack is a modern take on mini golf. The ball keeps score for you, the drinks are served throughout the course, and the holes are a mix of classic (think get the ball through the windmill) and unique (as in, theres a hole set up like skee-ball). Jenny never wins, but it's always fun!

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

18300 West Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465

A great place to go for a hike if you can handle the altitude. Red Rocks is an amazing concert venue, but you'll be a little too busy to attend. If you're an early bird, highly recommend watching the sunrise at Red Rocks...

Rocky Mountain National Park

Estes Park, CO

If you're making a weekend out of this trip, definitely head to Rocky Mountain. Only an hour and a half from Denver, it is a must! Stop at the Alluvial Fan to climb up a water fall or visit Lily Lake for a .8 mile trail around the lake. Head to the park at dawn or leave at dusk to catch some wildlife! RMNP is one of the McDonnell family's favorite places in the whole world. It does cost $25 to enter RMNP.

Ball Arena

1000 Chopper Circle, Denver, CO 80204

The schedules aren't out yet -- but you can't go wrong with an Avs game when in Colorado! Jenny and TJ always try to attend when the Blackhawks are in town
