Museum of Aviation

The Museum of Aviation opened to the public on Friday, 9 November 1984 with 20 aircraft on display in an open field and another 20 were in various stages of restoration. The Museum of Aviation has grown to become the second largest museum in the United States Air Force and the fourth most visited museum in the Department of Defense. The museum is a place that honors our veterans and their families and reminds our Airmen of their legendary Air Force heritage. If you have the time and would like to make the drive you should definitely go check this out!

Titan I Missile

A real (but thankfully not live) missile stands tall as a monument to the United States military in the small town of Cordele. Go check it out if your interested in the space sciences!

Georgia Veterans State Park

Established in 1946 as a memorial to U.S. veterans, Georgia Veterans State Park stretches 1,308 acres and offers an array of recreational activities and overnight accommodations. Perched on picturesque Lake Blackshear, the park includes one of the most naturally beautiful Georgia golf courses, four miles of nature trails, and endless opportunities for fishing, boating, and water recreation. The entrance fee is $5.

Crisp Motorsports Park features an asphalt track with excellent facilities on 100 acres of land that creates an inviting and fun atmosphere for drivers and fans of all ages. With multiple divisions racing weekly you’re sure to find something for your inner gear head. Our track, Watermelon Capital Speedway, is a 3/8 mile, medium banked, high speed D, asphalt track that boasts the fastest speeds in South Georgia. If they have a race while your in town you should definitely go check it out!

Step back in time on Georgia's rolling state park. This is perfect for anyone who loves civil war history. The story of the Savannah, Americus & Montgomery Railway will sure keep you entertained. Be sure to check it out!

Cordele Railway Park

This is a semi-new railway park that is located at the confluence of three railroads, CSX, Norfolk Southern and the Heart of Georgia Railroad. The new viewing platform is well equipped with bathrooms, benches and outdoor ceiling fans. The park has a series of historical placards that details the history of the railways in conjunction with the city of Cordele's history. It is well lit and there is plenty of parking. Definitely go check it out if you love trains!
