Mike’s birthday was around the corner and he would be putting everyone to work. He asked if he could have a birthday get together with the family and a few of his closest friends. Lupita and michael worked all week preparing the backyard: there was a lot of sanding, cleaning, planting happening to prepare the backyard. During the week, Michael went to talk to Elias about asking for Lupita’s hand in marriage, and after asked Mati. They both of course said yes and the day arrived. Lupita had planned to make fish tacos and if you’ve made them before, you know its a lot of work. She woke up early to prep everything and clean working nonstop. As the time got closer, she went to get ready and people started to arrive. She began making fish tacos and by night fall she was exhausted. She asked Michael if they could sing him happy birthday as it was getting dark. The lights in the back were turned on and Jen and Lupita went into the house to prepare the cake and the candles. On her way out to the backyard, she saw her family and friends lined up with roses in their hands making her a pathway to walk down to. At the end was Michael waiting for her. As she got to Michael, he said, "you thought this was a celebration of my birthday, but it was really a celebration of our love" and he got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him!!
