Skyler is Scarlet’s oldest and most enduring friend. They first crossed paths in 2010 through an online creative community and immediately connected over shared interests. What began as two kids telling stories soon became hours spent battling in Pokémon on their Nintendo DS Lites, which naturally led to late-night conversations on Skype that lasted far longer. Their bond deepened through their shared love for animals—celebrating every new pet, grieving the losses, and being there for each other in all the in-between moments. Skyler has been Scarlet’s steady presence from middle school through college, the person she could always turn to with every joy and heartbreak. The night Scarlet met Max, the very first person she reached out to was Skyler, simply to say she thought she’d just met the man she was going to marry. Even with states between them—Skyler in Tennessee and Scarlet in Louisiana—the distance never mattered. Their friendship has carried them from imaginative online worlds to real-life adventures, including their senior trip to Disney World, a week exploring Atlanta for a Fall Out Boy concert, and spontaneous day trips to Nashville. Through every season, Skyler has remained one of the most important and treasured people in Scarlet’s life.

Annemarie became one of Scarlet’s closest friends after they met in late 2023 as ladies-in-waiting at the Miss Rodeo America pageant. When Scarlet accidentally entered the SouthPoint Casino through the wrong door, struggling with her luggage, Annemarie immediately stepped out of line to help her get settled. That small act set the tone for the entire year they spent as state queens together. As Miss Rodeo Louisiana and Miss Rodeo Nevada, they embarked on countless journeys across the country. Annemarie came to Louisiana in the spring to join Scarlet for the Angola Prison Rodeo, and Scarlet visited Reno in the summer. Together, they weathered torrential downpours in Guymon, Oklahoma, were moved to tears at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and stood side by side onstage in Las Vegas. Before the coronation, Annemarie even helped stitch Scarlet into her gown after she had lost nearly ten pounds from being so sick during the pageant. And when Annemarie was announced as a top ten finalist, Scarlet made sure Annemarie could hear her cheers across the room. Distance never mattered. Annemarie has always been a steadfast companion Scarlet could turn to during the highs and lows of queening, and, of course, in the time after. Whether laughing together, indulging in maple bacon donuts and crawfish, or accidentally matching outfits, their connection only grows richer. And while their gowns may not match at the wedding, their friendship has been a perfect fit from the start.

Scarlet and Savannah met through the Livingston Horse Show Association in their early horse showing years, quickly bonding over long days in the arena. What began as cheering each other on in cowhorse classes, barrel racing, and queening quietly grew into a steady, dependable friendship. Their connection deepened in 2020 when they created the Louisiana Lightning Flag Girls, with Savannah naturally stepping in as co-captain. She was the calm, reliable force at every practice and performance, especially while Scarlet traveled as a queen with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Savannah handled last-minute changes and kept the team running smoothly. Outside the arena, their friendship continued to grow: studying side-by-side during semesters at Southeastern Louisiana University, grabbing coffee afternoons, or stopping into bookstores just to wander. Living less than five minutes apart made it easy for them to stay rooted in each other’s lives, even as their paths evolved. Savannah supported Scarlet through every season - celebrating big wins, encouraging her through challenges, and showing up in ways that meant more than words. They’ve walked through heartbreaks, career changes, triumphs, and everything in between, always managing to pick up right where they left off, no matter how busy life gets. Their friendship, nurtured through every experience they've shared, is something Scarlet holds incredibly close to her heart.
