How We Met

12.4.2018

After almost a year of flying around the world as a flight attendant, I decided to transfer from Charlotte, North Carolina back to Phoenix, Arizona in hopes to create a more balanced life between being on the ground and in the sky. During one of my days off, I decided to hop on Bumble in hopes to meet new people. Little did I know that after countless swipes left, a blue eyed guy with the same last name as my favorite TV character (Carrie Bradshaw) would catch my attention and make me swipe right. Tyler had been trying to find his adventure seeking, dessert loving, coffee connoisseur, but was having no luck until he came across my profile and referred to me as "a sexy hot lady he wanted to meet." It was on an ordinary Tuesday morning in December, at a local coffee shop where we met in person for the very first time. (Please note that during our date, Tyler did not order coffee....or anything for that matter because he drank too much coffee before arriving at our said coffee date). At the end of our date, as Tyler walked me to my car, it was obvious that the pull we felt to each other was nothing short of a once in a lifetime kind of, soon to be love. Two weeks later, Tyler told me that he was in love with me and it was in that moment that I knew that I couldn't ever imagine my life without him.

The Proposal

3.20.2021

A few months before Tyler’s 30th birthday, him and I decided to plan a “glamping” trip at Under Canvas Zion to celebrate. Fast forward to one month prior to our trip, I received a message on Instagram from a photographer asking if we would be interested in being models for a photoshoot. (Fun little side note, six months into dating we did a styled elopement photoshoot as a favor to one of Tyler’s friends). Because of the past photoshoot we did, I didn’t think anything special of this one. As the day got closer, I began getting butterflies out of nowhere... little did I know what was coming. On the morning of the photoshoot, Tyler was extremely nervous trying to keep the huge secret that he was going to propose, from me, all the while trying to not lose the ring or have me discover it while we were getting ready. As we began taking pictures, Tyler was trying to act cool, calm and collected, but on the inside, he was a bundle of nerves. Prior to the photoshoot, Tyler and the photographer came up with a code that when she asked him if he wanted water, that meant she was asking if he wanted to get the ring from her to propose. She asked Tyler a couple of times if he wanted water, but each time he said no. He wanted to wait until we were standing in the perfect spot. He waited a bit longer than anticipated, but right before the sun disappeared for the night, he got down on one knee and said the magic words to me, "Kimberly Nicole Haug, I have loved you since the day I met you and can't imagine my life without you. Will you marry me?" It was truly magical and the easiest YES of my life. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Cabo!
