Things To Do
1. Riding the historic train from downtown Durango up to Silverton is a great full Fall day excursion for the family.
2. Walking the riverwalk that stretches from north to south all the way through our small mountain town.
3. Hiking, there is a lot of it. Lots of mountains, just pick one.
4. Go golf up at Fort Lewis college overlooking the town.
5. Just walking downtown Durango is a history tour in and of itself, the town has been around since the mid-1800s.
6. Must try for food and drinks in town: Steamworks Brewery, Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen, Derailed Pour House, Zia Taqueria, Gazpacho Mexican Resturant and Charlie's personal favorite; Serious Texas BBQ
7. Take a trip up to the local ski resort open year round, Purgatory
8. Check out Whitewater Park along the Animas river, where professional kayak and whitewater rafting tours run all summer long.
