A New Chapter Awaits

In 2018, Autumn walked into BJ's Brewhouse for what she thought was just a job interview. Instead, she unknowingly walked into the beginning of forever. Kaleb just happened to be at the host stand greeting guests — which, ironically, wasn’t even his job. He went to grab the manager to let them know Autumn had arrived… but not before giving her a heads up: “You’re going to be waiting a while.” He was absolutely right! After Autumn got the job, they started off as coworkers. With a little encouragement from their friend Bria (who made sure Kaleb knew Autumn was single — while also gently warning him that she had recently lost someone close), the two became friends first. But “just friends” quickly turned into flirty friends. They found ways to walk around together, shared drinks, called each other over during shifts, and spent long hours sitting in cars after work talking about everything and nothing. Then came the moment that almost ended it before it really began. They planned their very first date… and Kaleb missed it. After working a double shift, he overslept — completely missing the date and every single one of Autumn’s phone calls. The next time they worked together, Autumn did what any reasonable person would do: she ignored him. Completely. Kaleb had no idea he was in trouble. Thankfully, Bria stepped in once again and told him he should probably go talk to Autumn — especially if he still wanted a chance. It turns out it was an honest mistake (a very sleepy one), and after an explanation, a little grace and a shared drink, they decided to give it another try. Good thing they did.
