We met on Bumble in 2016 and our first date was July 6, 2016 (the day before Cori's 25th birthday) at BrewWorks in Bethlehem, PA. The rest was history. In our 5 years together, we have weathered moving in together while both starting new jobs, the loss of loved ones, quarantine, a pandemic, and the addition of a fur child. You can truly say, we've been through it all. But in the midst of all of these challenges, we have only grown closer together. Together our love of adventure has flourished as Joe's inability to sit still has forced the homebody that is Cori to explore the world beyond the couch. Our mutual love of Philadelphia sports has presented many opportunities to create new memories with our friends and family. Music is another thing that has broaden both of our horizons - Joe enduring country concerts & Cori participating in raves - neither of which would have happened without the other.
At the beginning of 2020, plans for #operationbendtheknee were already in motion. But come March, COVID had foiled the plan Joe had been working on for a year. The original plan was to propose at the top of a light house in Fripp Island, South Carolina. When the world came to a screeching halt, Joe wondered "what now..?". After weeks of contemplation, with help from some family members, a new (& better) plan was devised... On a sunny Sunday in May, with the assumption of a stroll through the Lehigh Parkway - Cori had no idea what was waiting around the corner. After walking for a mile to "meet up with his parents", we passed some strategically placed lawn signs that still didn't give Cori the hint until she saw her own name. At that point, Joe called for Nico, who came running straight to them with the ring attached to his harness. Joe got down on one knee, asked the question, to which a frazzled Cori responded with "I don't know what hand it goes on..". The rest of the day was spent celebrating (COVID - safe) with immediate family & the best is yet to come!
