The first time we met at a Dunkin Donuts, where Enajeé was working overnight just before classes in the morning. Jesse walked in with one of his coworkers one day and it was her second day on the job. She created small talk as she couldn’t do anything and didn’t know where anything was except for the donuts, Jesse asked for 12 donuts and there were exactly 13 donuts left. Enajeé filled the box with the donuts Jesse asked for and while trying to close the box ALL of the donuts fell onto the floor. She was so embarrassed, and Jesse chuckled but still needed the donuts. She told him to come back at 2am to grab some fresh ones! He and his friend left and she hadn’t expected him to return that evening. To her surprise, he’d come back! She immediately got his donuts and got him what he needed. He asked for tea and she did not know how to make tea, she didn’t even know where the water was! Her coworker helped her make the tea and after that he said thank you and left again. Jesse jumped in his car and told his coworker that he thinks the girl inside liked him. His coworker encouraged him to come back in to get Enajeé’s number. Once he came in he asked for her number and she smiled and said “surrreee”. But there was a catch. He only got her number, he asked for her name and she replied, “If and when you text me, I’ll give it to you”. Here we are 12 years later!
