Question

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

Answer

For the health and safety of all of our guests, and in accordance with state and local ordinances, we are requiring that all guests (including plus ones) be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to attending. If you are unvaccinated or unable to be vaccinated, we will sincerely miss your company and hope to safely celebrate you on another occasion! Our venue requires that all guests show proof of vaccination and ID upon entry. Please plan accordingly.

Question

Will You Be Having A Traditional Nigerian Ceremony?

Answer

While we are not hosting a full traditional ceremony, we will incorporate some traditional aspects into our western wedding and reception, including a naming ceremony, a crowning ceremony and of course, a money dance!

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is Black-Tie or Traditional Nigerian attire (Aso-Ebi). We encourage you to wear your most formal attire!

Question

Will there be any traditional Nigerian wedding attire?

Answer

Yes! One Nigerian wedding tradition you can prepare for is wearing Aso-Ebi. Aso-Ebi means “Family Clothes” in Yoruba. This is when family members of the couple, decide to wear identical colors and fabrics chosen by the bride at an event to identify themselves. However it is also very common to see friends of the bride show up in aso-ebi too. The family of the groom is wearing light blue. The family of the bride is wearing burgundy.

Question

What is the Welcome Event? Do I have to come?

Answer

The welcome event is on Friday September 30 at Vision on Wilshire. Think of it as a mixer for our friends and families to mingle and spend some time together before the big day on Saturday. Attendance is by no means required, but we'd love if you're able to join us!
