In January 2018, Andrew and Wendy's paths crossed during their final semester of high school where they had an instant connection and began dating almost right away. After their high school graduation, they took different paths in the military: Andrew joined the Air Force on active duty, leaving for basic military training in October 2018, whereas Wendy pursued her college education while in the Air Force Reserve and leaving for basic military training in January 2019. Their separate training led them to different duty stations, with Andrew being stationed at Nellis AFB in Nevada and Wendy returning to NAS JRB Fort Worth in Texas, marking the beginning of their long-distance journey. Despite missing important events, they were determined to bridge the physical distance and nurture their emotional connection. Through the frequent texting, phone calls, and video chats that became their lifeline, they shared their days and experiences. They cherished the moments they could spend together during school breaks and between Andrew's deployments. Through communication, they continued to keep that strong connection with each other. They even managed to keep their Snapchat streak from high school! In December 2019, Andrew proposed to Wendy, and they got engaged. In March 2022, Wendy finally moved to Las Vegas, NV to be with Andrew.
