FAQs

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding weekend?

Answer

We’d love for the weekend to feel elevated, romantic, and effortlessly Italian while still being comfortable in the Tuscan countryside. Here’s the general vibe for each event: Welcome Party Think colorful Italian summer. Flowy sundresses (long or short), fun prints, and vibrant colors are all encouraged. For men, linen is highly encouraged — linen pants or tailored shorts paired with button-downs, polos, or lightweight suit jackets are perfect. Wedding Day Formal attire. We envision elegant, timeless attire that complements our romantic Italian garden setting. Ladies are encouraged to wear floor length dresses or gowns. Gentlemen are invited to wear suits in classic or seasonal colors, including navy, beige, tan, or linen. Given the warm August weather in Tuscany, lightweight fabrics are encouraged. Farewell / Pool Day Relaxed resort wear. Swimsuits, breezy coverups, matching sets, linen, and comfortable vacation attire are perfect for a laid-back final day together. Please also keep in mind that portions of the venue may include grass, gravel, cobblestone, and uneven walkways, so we recommend choosing shoes accordingly for comfort throughout the weekend.

Question

Do I need to book my own accommodations?

Answer

No, we will be coordinating and assigning all accommodations for guests to make the process as easy as possible. While many guests will stay on-site at Borgo di Pietrafitta, the venue has limited capacity. Should additional accommodations be needed, we will coordinate nearby lodging and transportation as necessary. We will be covering 50% of the cost of accommodations for the wedding weekend (Thursday–Sunday). Once room assignments are finalized, we will share your room details and information for paying the remaining balance. If you would like to arrive earlier than Thursday or extend your stay beyond Sunday, you are welcome to do so, but those additional nights would be arranged and covered individually.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes. All guests traveling to Italy will need a valid passport. We recommend making sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. If you do not currently have a passport, you can apply online through the U.S. Department of State website: https://travel.state.gov/passport Passport processing can take 6–10 weeks, so we recommend applying as soon as possible if you need one. U.S. travelers visiting Italy will also need to complete a simple online travel authorization (ETIAS) prior to their trip. This is not a full visa and typically takes only a few minutes to apply for. We will share more details as the wedding gets closer.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

We will officially check into the venue on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM, so we highly recommend arriving in Italy at least one day before to relax, adjust to the time difference, and avoid any potential travel delays.

Question

When should I depart?

Answer

Our wedding weekend concludes on Sunday morning following breakfast at the venue. All guests must depart the property by 10:00 AM. Shuttle transportation back to Florence will be provided for guests utilizing our group transportation, and guests can then begin their journeys home or continue their travels throughout Italy and beyond.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest airports to the venue are: Florence Airport (FLR) – about 1 hour (55 km / 34 miles) Pisa International Airport (PSA) – about 1 hour 40 minutes (110 km / 68 miles) Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) – about 3 hours (270 km / 168 miles) We recommend flying into the Florence airport as we will be providing transportation from Florence to the venue for guests who can make it to the meeting point on Thursday. Guests are also welcome to fly into Rome or Pisa if they find better flight options, and either rent a car directly to the venue in Tuscany or travel to Florence by train or rental car to meet the group shuttle.

Question

How do I get from the airport to the venue?

Answer

Renting a car is a great option if you plan to explore Tuscany during your trip. There is parking available onsite at Borgo di Pietrafitta for guests who choose to rent a vehicle. For guests who prefer not to drive, we will also be arranging a shuttle from Florence to the venue on Thursday before the wedding. Guests are welcome to meet at the specified location point to take the shuttle to the venue together. More details on the shuttle timing, meeting point, and sign-up will be shared closer to the wedding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding celebrations will be adults-only events. Guests are absolutely welcome to travel with their children and arrange childcare during the wedding festivities, but we kindly ask that children do not attend the wedding events themselves. Our hosted accommodations are intended for adult wedding guests for the wedding weekend (Thursday–Sunday). If you plan to travel with children and require additional rooms or different accommodations, those arrangements and costs would need to be handled individually.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

Your save the date and invitation will indicate exactly who is invited to celebrate with us. If your correspondence is addressed only to you, we kindly ask that you attend without a guest. As much as we would love to celebrate with everyone, our venue and accommodations have limited capacity, so we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on each invitation.

Question

Will I need to arrange my own meals during the wedding weekend?

Answer

No, breakfast will be provided each morning by the venue, and all scheduled meals throughout the wedding weekend are included. Guests are welcome to bring additional snacks or beverages for their rooms if they'd like.
