What will the weather be like?

Answer

Daytime – Expect a cool and comfortable fall day, but with more sun, with high temperatures most often in the upper 50s°F to low 70s°F. Nighttime – It usually cools off in the evening, with lows around the mid to upper 40s°F, so jackets or warm layers are a good idea after sunset. Early October in Palisade is classic Colorado fall: crisp mornings and evenings, mild afternoons, and generally clear skies with a chance of light wind. There’s only a modest chance of rain at that time of year, but it’s still autumn so evenings can get chilly!

What is the dress code?

Answer

Not formal - no need to wear suits, ties or gowns. Feel free to wear casual dress clothes (e.g. chinos, slacks, summer dresses, etc).

What type of car should I rent?

Answer

We recommend renting a small-medium SUV since you'll be driving on mountain roads. Especially if you plan to check out Colorado National Monument.

Are there Ubers in Palisade?

Answer

Yes, there are Ubers, although not many. There are also local taxi services and wine trolleys you can hire to visit the wineries.

Do you recommend doing a wine tour?

Answer

Yes! If you have an extra day in Palisade, we recommend taking a wine tour with a local guide. We are happy to arrange this for you with our driver, Dave.

Is Palisade dog friendly?

Answer

Yes! Dogs are allowed at most wineries. There are also many restaurants with outdoor seating.

Anything else we should know?

Answer

DRINK WATER. DRINK WATER. DRINK WATER. You will be at high-altitude in Colorado and alcohol will hit you differently. We also suggest stocking up on electrolyte packets or drinks on your drive up.
