Miranda and Jeremy met playing Magic: The Gathering on a Friday night at Dothan's local card shop, Fanatix. Jeremy was playing with Goblins and this was Miranda's first time actually getting to play. He was a complete gentleman as he proceeded to steamroll her poor throw-together Sultai-ish brew. Admirably, he gave her pointers while she raged at the seemingly sheer unfairness of this madness she'd just witnessed. A friendship grew through playing Magic and finding out their tastes in music meshed very well. Jeremy liked to on and off build decks for her to try out and play. Miranda was ENTIRELY oblivious he had feelings for her (shocker) until she'd moved away, moved back, and showed back up at Fanatix's new location at which he adorably awkwardly told her that "we should... hang out... sometime..." as he about tripped himself getting out the door, and then 180'd several nights later over Messenger with: "So when would you like me to take you out on a date?" She was confused but ultimately relented. He was right: they were both into cats, Star Wars, Dinosaurs, and Heavy Metal. Why not?
Jeremy had been planning a cute surprise for her. Ordered a ring he knew she'd love and was waiting on the Pokeball to arrive before he made any other permanent plans. The ring was currently (obviously) hidden in his sock drawer, awaiting its much cuter container. The happy couple had had a rough day, a rough week really, but had a bright spot and were on their way back from the premier showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Even after such a fantastic distraction of a movie, a lot was still weighing on the two. They had a heartfelt talk about life as it is and how they wanted it, misunderstandings got clarified, and weights were lifted. When they got home, Jeremy realized he didn't need to wait for the Pokeball or any other "perfect moment". This was perfect, and all they needed. So he pulled the box from his sock drawer and crawled into bed with her, and proposed. Miranda was so happy and confused, all she could do was cry and nod her head for a bit, then finally SAY, "YES!", still nodding vigorously through happy tears. A few days later, the Pokeball came in. A little late, huh? <3
