Jared alleges that we met years ago at 55 Bar, a divey West Village jazz spot where all the coolest cats made the hang. Amy doesn't remember this. What Amy does remember, though, is needing a drummer last-minute for a gig and asking herself, "who is the most responsible drummer in NYC, who will learn all the parts, show up on time and nail the performance?" Of course, the only answer was Jared Schonig. A few weeks later Amy was headed to London for a short tour and Jared asked, "What if I flew to London and took you to Paris?" We came back in love.
Jared snagged a highly competitive reservation at Blue Hill Stone Barns, one of the best restaurants in the world, and one that had long been on his and Amy's bucket list. Several courses in, the staff pulled Jared and Amy away from their table for a quick private tour of the property, which ended in their rustic, candle-lit, compost shed. After sharing some facts about their fascinating composting process, the couple was left alone with two glasses of champagne, so that Jared could pop the question. We're so excited to share this next chapter with you - see you in Santa Barbara and NYC!
