Ebenezer’s Tavern Ebenezer's Tavern is named after the founder and keeper of the Inn, Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, who entertained Revolutionary troops hearthside with culinary feasts and specialty drinks. Here, generous portions are served up from a tavern-style menu. The atmosphere has maintained its 18th century ambiance adorning oversized wingback chairs, comfortable couches by the fireplace, and vintage brass beer taps and rum barrels. The tavern lies outside of the old-fashioned Bake Shoppe. Bake Shoppe The Bake Shoppe at the Publick House is an 18th century bakery featuring irresistible pastries, decadent desserts, home-made breads, traditional pies, cakes, jams, relishes, and prepared meals. Wells State Park is a 1400 acre public recreation area located off Route 49 in Sturbridge, MA. The park offers 12 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross-county skiing. A notable trail leads to the cliffs of Carpenter Rocks, named after John Carpenter, who built and operated a sawmill nearby.
