How We Met

February 13th, 2016

We met the day before Valentine's Day at The Harp, a lively bar in Boston's North End. We were both out celebrating special occasions for our friends, but little did we know it would be a life-changing occasion for us! After chatting for a bit we parted ways and returned to our friends. Later that night, we collided on the dance floor and the rest is truly a blur. Before we knew it, last call was upon us and it was time to head home. After exchanging numbers, we got in our separate Ubers and Tom immediately sent a text that read "I miss you already." We had our first official date the very next weekend and we've never looked back!

Our Engagement Story

May 18th, 2019

In May 2019, we took a long weekend trip to Quebec City. As we were finishing up brunch one morning, I wanted to browse a few nearby shops afterwards. Tom insisted we go for a walk at Parc du Bastion-de-la-Reine. I told him we had all day to do that and I wanted to shop now! He shut me down and I rolled my eyes, thinking “when did I let him become so bossy?” As we arrived at the park I critiqued Tom’s parallel parking job on a steep downhill. When he didn’t snap back at me, I thought “is he feeling ok?!” Ten steps from the car I stopped and said “hang on, it’s windy. I want my jacket.” He told me I didn’t need one and physically turned me back towards the park. Another eyeroll. As we ascended the hill I kept on stopping to take in the beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River. Tom seemed impatient and kept prodding me on and I thought, “what is wrong with this dude today?” When we finally reached the overlook he got down on one knee, pulled out a shiny red box, and asked to spend the rest of our lives together. I cried. He laughed. We kissed. I said yes! Then, he pointed me to a man in a green jacket who turned out to be a photographer who had stealthily captured the whole moment for us. It’s now 3 years later and Tom is still bossy, his parallel parking could still use some work, and I'm still saying yes a million times over.

Our First Home

July 1st, 2020

Amidst the early stages of wedding planning, a little thing called COVID-19 came along. It threw a wrench into everyone's lives. It forced us to reconsider our priorities and our plans for the immediate future. With lockdown upon us, our wedding plans came to a halt. We then began looking at homes for sale. We toured at least a dozen houses that weren't the right fit for us. Supply and demand were at an all time low as the world faced so much uncertainty. Then, along came a listing for a charming colonial on a quiet street in Bellingham, MA. We toured the home and within 48 hours we were under agreement. We spent the next several months settling into our new home. Its been almost 2 years and while the responsibilities are never-ending, we couldn't be happier or more fortunate to have a place to call our own. We look forward to many years of memories and milestones together in our very first home.
