~ A Bug Out Plan for the Zombie Apocalypse ~ Jaclyn and Marshall, MA natives, hail from Sharon and Stow. There were times in college when they could have bumped into each other at the WPI campus (Jaclyn, a student at UMASS Amherst, would often visit friends at WPI) but never did. Marshall was on his way home from his cousin's wedding when he came across Jaclyn's profile on Tinder. It didn't take long for the question onslaught and rapid ping-pong of text message exchange to begin. Admittedly, Jaclyn enjoyed Marshall's bug out plan for the zombie apocalypse but was most impressed with the care and thought he put into his responses. ~ Wet Leather and Sneakers ~ A week later, Marshall found himself standing outside the Boston Herald building in his leather coat in the pouring rain, patiently awaiting Jaclyn's arrival and eager to begin their first date. Thoughts fluttered through Jaclyn's mind as she walked through the lobby. Despite engine issues, inclement weather, and a two hour plus commute from CT to MA in rush hour traffic, Marshall had made it! Wondering what she could say that could possibly convey her thoughts, Jaclyn opened the side door and settled simply on "Why are you standing outside?"

~ Designed in New York, Made in London ~ Marshall and Jaclyn designed an ethical, bespoke ring through UK based Taylor and Hart. Their design journey began with photos, artistic renderings, and a meet-and-greet via zoom. Special features include gems on the band inspired by Jaclyn's love of the ocean and a hidden gem inside the band as a nod to Marshall's birth stone. Shortly after receiving their vaccinations, Marshall and Jaclyn made the trek to NY for a romantic weekend away to finalize details. They couldn't have asked for better white glove treatment as they had the showroom and office entirely to themselves and a private consultation. The only thing to top it - the dim sum celebration that followed. ~ To the Rest of Our Lives Together ~ Marshall and Jaclyn became engaged while visiting Jaclyn's family in Maui. Marshall planned a week full of fun excursions, including a 5 hour snorkel excursion in Turtle Town and a visit to the Black Sands Beach on the Road to Hana. The proposal day started off with a casual breakfast and a relaxing afternoon of pampering and swimming at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea Spa. Yes, this is the location where The White Lotus TV show was filmed! The multi-course dinner with wine pairings at the Sea House Restaurant was lovely. The dinner menu, hand selected by Marshall, was appropriately titled "To the rest of our lives together". It would likely surprise no one to learn that Marshall popped the question to get it out of the way, right before the important part of dinner; dessert. Regardless, Marshall and Jaclyn thoroughly enjoyed their dinner while watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean and their dessert under the stars. And, she said YES!

~ Toilet Paper Shortages and a Housing Market Crisis ~ 2021 - 2023 has sure been busy! There hasn't been a zombie apocalypse yet but the global COVID pandemic continues. And, so does toilet paper shortages and the housing market crisis. After navigating through what Jaclyn and Marshall fondly refer to as HHH (House Hunting Hell) and the Gauntlet (where a series of offers on houses are made back to back and all are rejected), they finally struck gold! Marshall, Jackie, and their dog, Harley, are happily settled in their first house in Ayer, MA. They have plenty of toilet paper and are enjoying renovating their new house.

~ French Fairytale Vibes ~ Unfortunately, we can't bring you all to the Four Seasons, Maui but we can share another one of our favorite destinations with you, Mirbeau Inn & Spa. It's very different but equally special, a French chateau complete Claude Monet inspired gardens and coy ponds. We have some treats planned and can't wait to share them with you.
