Her Side

November 2013

Hi! Welcome to the history of Lex and Pat. Our stories might sound a little different..but in the end it led us to each other! Let's go back 8 years ago...It was LSU weekend in Tuscaloosa, and little did I know that not only would we beat the Tigers (DUH!) but I would also meet the man that I would later call my husband. Thinking back now, I guess I should've seen it coming. If you're reading this, you know Pat and know that he is very persistent and gets what he wants. But let's get back to the story! Patrick came down to Alabama to visit his cousin who happens to be my best friend and roommate (HEY Kris!) After the first night of all hanging out, I couldn't get Patrick away from me. I will never forget one of the first things he said to me, "I love that" referring to my love handles that he squeezed. Usually I would get offended and never look or speak to anyone who said that to me again, but there was something about the way he said it and looked at me. After Patrick left that weekend, we talked every day and every night, and surprisingly I didn't get sick of him! He ended up coming back for a surprise visit and dropped the "L" word! CRAZY I know, but after I asked him "really?!" I eventually said it back. Although the love was strong, our paths eventually led us different ways. (I'm sure he'll tell you how it was all my fault. *eyeroll* Well let's fast forward to October 2017 on Halloween when I get a text from Pat. He found out that I had moved up to NYC (STALKER ALERT) and wanted to get dinner. After a few days of "IDK" and "yeah maybe one day" I gave in to dinner. It only took one date to bring us back to where we left off in college. A month later he took me on a date to play with penguins, my favorite, and then to a delicious seafood dinner. I know what you're thinking OMG he asked her out! Wrong LOL he waited until it was pitch black in bed to nervously ask. 2 years later, he took me to my fav beach and got down on one knee. And here we are now! I love you

His Side

Persistence is key

In 2013 I had talks with my cousin Kristen of going to Tuscaloosa to see a Bama game . Unaware of what it would be like aside from reassurance of a big party, I asked her about the town and what to expect . She told me about her and her 3 roommates, all of which were fun to be around and I asked to see a picture . When I saw Alexa I immediately took a liking to her, so not to be weird or anything I friend requested her without knowing her, and liked about 70 of her pictures . Meeting her in person the first time I knew I had an overwhelming attraction to her . She kind've had interest in me but not like I did in her so I had to play it cool. So after the weekend I texted her everyday and snap chatted her . Then where the discrepancy comes in, the distance is too much, we went our separate ways until SHE SNAPPED ME randomly a 1 way ticket moving to New York City . I tried to take her out to lunch but she said no. Then eventually after 1, 2 or 30 messages later, she agreed to meet with me and let me take her out to dinner. The rest kind've remains history . Couldn’t be happier with my family growing . Persistence pays off.
