In 2015, Jake and Riley ended up on the same sales team at Yelp selling advertising to local businesses. The two were friendly, but Jake was fully bought in when he learned Riley's family had a horse when she was growing up. To quote him, "That's when I knew you weren't just a city girl." Approximately 80,000 cold calls later, the two left Yelp, but have been together ever since.

Jake and Riley went up to the Benton family cabin in Mill Creek, CA for a seemingly routine weekend getaway. A few of their friends joined and the group was going to "hunt" Christmas trees in the mountains. They stopped at a lookout spot for a break, and everyone was totally surprised when Jake got down on one knee. He even hid a bottle of champagne in the car to celebrate! What a way to end the wild year of 2020...

September 2015: Jake and Riley meet at Yelp January 2016: Jake takes Riley on their first date to the San Francisco Zoo. It rains. A lot. March 2017: Jake and Riley travel to Thailand for 14 days. It's both of their first trip out of the country! (They also get tattoos -- oops!)
