Little did Zach know, both he and Alexis took the same Freshman History Class at Ocean Township High School in 2009. When Alexis was given the opportunity to create the seating chart for her class, she coincidentally sat Zach next to her. Not even a smile or hello, Zach failed to notice her and the class' seating arrangement was quickly changed. Fast forward a few years later, both Alexis and Zach socialized within the same friend group; but, it wasn't until Senior Year when they had majority of their classes together that two of them became friends. Near the end of the year, the two of the became close and Zach asked Alexis to their Senior Prom. With College right around the corner, Alexis was headed to Florida and Zach to Pennsylvania. When it came time for college, Alexis and Zach both parted their ways and decided it would be best that they remain friends while they went away. They say, distance makes the heart grow fond, and sure enough within a month of being away from one another, they decided to make it official and become a couple. After the first semester of college, Alexis and Zach both decided that their schools were not a fit for them and they came home to finish out their schooling.....and the rest is history!
On a cold, October evening, Zach decided to come home from work early and take Alexis to one of her favorite childhood restaurants, Buona Sera in Red Bank. The two of them sat at their "regular" table and enjoyed a bottle of wine and as always, delicious food. Zach had mentioned that he needed to book his holiday work dinner and felt that Buona Sera's Wine Cellar would be the perfect fit. He simply asked that after dinner they take a look to see the space. Alexis responded with, "You can just look at their photos online, I am sure those are better". Zach dropped the conversation. At the end of dinner, Zach mentioned it again that while we are here we might as well just "look". The staff was happy to show us but had mentioned that they were cleaning up from a party and that the room may not show its best. As the two of them headed into the cellar, Alexis couldn't help but to be in awe over the candles and rose pedals all over the floor. It didn't even come to mind until Zach had told her to read the sign, which stated, "Will You Marry Me?" Still in complete shock, Alexis started crying and could not believe that the love of her life had pulled this together. Of course she said YES! The surprise didn't just end there. After popping a bottle of Champagne and celebrating a toast together, both of their families showed up to celebrate their engagement. Best of all, Zach hired a secret photographer to capture all of the special moments.
