Things To Do

Planning to stay in the Bay for a few extra days? Here is a list of some of our favorite places/things to do in San Francisco, Oakland, and Wine Country - as you already know, this list will be heavy on the restaurants. If you want to dip your toes into the Bay Area fine dining scene - don't hesitate to reach out to us.

DAYTRIP (Oakland)

4316 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, CA 94609

One of our favorite restaurants in Oakland. They're known for fermentation and natural wines. Must try the focaccia and celery salad.

Yonsei Handrolls (Oakland)

1738 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, CA 94612

Great bang for your buck handrolls in Oakland - The albacore and black garlic and crab are our personal favorites.

Delage (Oakland)

536 9th Street, Oakland, CA 94607

Small seating Omakase in Oakland

Flour + Water (San Francisco)

2401 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

We've established Flour + Water as our official favorite pasta restaurant in San Francisco. The Pasta tasting menu always delivers but you can't go wrong with a la carte. Reservations HIGHLY recommended and they fill up early.

Tartine Bakery (San Francisco)

600 Guerrero Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

One of our favorite ways to spend a sunny day in San Francisco is by ordering a ton of pastries from Tartine, stopping into Bi-Rite for drinks and snacks and going over to Dolores Park to people watch and enjoy our goodies.

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

151 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA 94103

Yayoi Kusama has an exhibit through November 2024. The MOMA is 6 floors full of exhibits and a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. Don't skip the gift shop. Nextdoor to the MOMA is Oren's Hummus which is Kelley's favorite hummus shop - get the Beet Bowl!

Harris' Restaurant - The San Francisco Steakhouse

2100 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94109

Kelley went to Harris' on her first trip to San Francisco with her Family and never forgot about it - little did I know she would end up moving 3 blocks away 15 years later. Harris' provided our date nights through COVID - we were able to stop by their "farmer's market" to get their steaks and cook them at home. If you can't get a reservation - try to stop by the bar for their full menu and an extra dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives!

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market (San Francisco)

1 Ferry Plaza, San Francisco, CA 94111

Our favorite farmers market in San Francisco - Open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning. Wander around outside then go into the ferry building for more restaurants and shops. Nothing in the Ferry Building tickling your fancy? Walk down the Embarcadero towards the bay bridge to Waterbar for bay side oysters/seafood and an Aperol Spritz.

The Apothecarium Cannabis Dispensary & Delivery (Berkeley)

2312 Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94704

Stop by the Apothecarium in SOMA or Castro (SF) or in Berkeley to learn anything you could want to know about California Cannabis.

Dream Fluff Donuts (Berkeley)

2637 Ashby Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94705

If you need to get some energy for a day of exploring Berkeley - stop by dream fluff for donuts. Their apple fritter (Kelley's favorite) and chocolate frosted cake with sprinkles (Michaels favorite) and glazed crumb (our favorite) are definitely the highlights.

Point Isabel Regional Shoreline (Berkeley/Richmond)

2701 Isabel Street, Richmond, CA 94804

We love taking the dogs to Point Isabel for a casual walk by the water.

Little Saint (Healdsburg)

25 North Street, Healdsburg, CA 95448

Plant Based sister restaurant of SingleThread - a must visit if you're in Healdsburg. Don't let the vegan menu throw you off - even carnivores can find delicious things here. Attached to the restaurant is a small commissary, bar, and coffee shop

Barndiva (Healdsburg)

231 Center Street, Healdsburg, CA 95448

Regiis Ova Bar & Lounge (Yountville)

6480 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599

Yountville is a town built around Chef Thomas Keller. His caviar lounge is one of our favorite places to grab a light (bougee) bite. If caviar isn't your vibe but you want to try something by Thomas Keller - hit up Bouchon Bistro for classic French fare, Ad Hoc for fried Chicken, La Calenda for Mexican or of course his world famous The French Laundry.

Opus One Winery (Yountville)

7900 Saint Helena Highway, Oakville, CA 94562

There is no shortage of small and large wineries in Napa and Sonoma County. If you want an extremely memorable tasting experience we cannot recommend OPUS enough. Kelley loves Cabernet and some of her best sips of wine have been OPUS. Make a request to get a private tour of their barrel room. The entire estate is absolutely stunning. Tasting Reservations required.
