We got married in the town of Twin Lakes, on the lake beach with a vast mountain backdrop, which included views of the tallest mountain in Colorado, Mt. Elbert. The day was an intimate one with a small guest list, which allowed us to cherish every second, never leaving each others sides. The ceremony was officiated by Sarah's dad, Thomas, which made the ceremony even more special - spoiler alert, he crushed it!! After the ceremony, the group drove to Tennessee Pass Nordic Center and then hiked up to the backcountry yurt Cookhouse, where we did first dances, drank amazing drinks and ate an incredible meal of locally sourced food. The day was exactly what we wanted! While it was a very small celebration, all of our family and friends were in our hearts.
Our relationship has been built on adventure and exploring new places, so what better way to celebrate our love than by going on a week long road trip! We started off by spending 17+ hours in the car driving to Mammoth Lakes, California on Sunday and stopped by Great Basin National Park on our way. Monday & Tuesday, we explored Yosemite National Park and camped for two nights! Wednesday morning, we made our way to Death Valley National Park and spent Wednesday night in Las Vegas, where we had the most incredible meal at Nobu. Thursday we camped in Grand Canyon National Park and learned all about the stars that night! Friday was spent relaxing/camping in Telluride, CO before heading home on Saturday afternoon. In all, we drove 3,000 miles and it was the perfect honeymoon that brought us even closer together.
