It can be accrual world out there for accounting folks. The long hours and stressful days can even have some questioning their career choice. Yet, even during the heart of busy season, Megan and Bryan would (deep down) likely feel otherwise. Because despite those long hours and stressful days, it was their decision to go into accounting that led them to one another. Megan began her career at Withum while Bryan started at PwC. After three years of long hours, Bryan made the switch to Withum. They can still remember being introduced to each other on Bryan’s first day. Bryan had been sitting at his desk with his friend Pete when Megan walked by and they exchanged awkward hellos. Although nothing more than a quick exchange, it would be the first time each of them had met their future spouse. While they worked on a few clients together over the course of the next year, that was about the extent of their conversations. In late August of 2018, Bryan decided to, as they like to say, “shoot his shot” and began talking to Megan by offering up some song suggestions that he knew would make him seem at least somewhat interesting. Those conversations grew longer and more frequent and eventually led to their first date at Reservoir Tavern followed by bowling. And yes, Megan beat Bryan two out of three times that night. The rest was history. Between countless trips to breweries and wineries, shuffling laundry, groceries and yes, even a desk at one point, between weeklong stays at each other’s apartments, mini vacations, weekend runs, drives to the shore and Florida, and finally getting an apartment together, it was clear Megan and Bryan each had found the person they were meant to spend the rest of their lives with. While it took 3 months for Bryan to put his plan into place, he got all the help he needed from the Frawley and Becher families, and on October 24, 2021, Bryan asked Megan to marry him. As you can guess, she said yes. Megan and Bryan cannot be happier to have found one another and look forward to being able to celebrate their special day with all of you!
