Their love story began in early 2022. It was a cold night. Shiela was setting up tables for the worship service that night, and Ian was preparing to perform for the choir. Early in the night, Danny Bayran introduced them to each other. And if you think they fell in love at first sight and there were sparks….you’d be wrong. In fact, after that night, they didn't interact with each other for several months. They continued with their lives, not thinking about each other. However, that little interaction is in the back of their minds. During the church activity, KADIWA Meet and Greet, they first got to know one another. They bonded over the anime, specifically One Piece, and Ian’s inability to braid friendship bracelets to save his life. After that activity, they talked every night about life, anime, and church-related topics only online. Despite living 10 minutes from each other and attending the same locale, they never met up in person and only talked through text and Zoom links. During this time, they both started to catch feelings. Not knowing what to do, they both had their separate prayers, asking for signs, that if it’s in God's will, they will be together. God's blessing was quickly upon them. Ian asked permission from both parents and had begun courting Shiela, blowing everyone’s minds as almost nobody knew they were talking, making it seem like it came from left field. They officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Thus, their relationship began with God being the center and foundation. Fast forward to today, we are filled with excitement and gratitude.
