Summer 2013: Kelsey Jr. & Karina both attended the Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge Camp at Campbell University. At Camp the Director, Lindsay, said something that stood out to Karina "At this camp you will meet someone who will be a part of your life forever". Fast forward a few months later Kelsey Jr. was playing Football at Fayetteville Christian Academy. During practice Kelsey Jr. tore his ACL & MCL. Later in the Fall. Karina decides to try out for her high school's basketball team. Funny thing is, her dad did not want her to play sports. He wanted her to solely focus on academics. He allowed her to try out and she made the team. Karina tore her ACL during the first game of the season. January 2014 Kelsey Jr. and Karina both had the same physical therapy appointment. Kelsey Jr. & Karina were on opposite sides of the room, as Kelsey is on his way out he recognized Karina. They both said "Karina?" "Kelsey?!" They both asked each other what happened and wished each other well. That same evening Kelsey Jr. posted a picture on Instagram. Karina was scrolling on IG and recognized him in the photograph. She then clicked on his IG page and saw that his KIK contact info was on his bio. If you know, you know! Karina sent him a message and the next few weeks were filled with all nighters, Facetime dates and never ending conversations. Karina invited Kelsey Jr. to be her date for her school's annual Military Ball. At the ball Kelsey Jr. pulled Karina to the side and said to her "We have been getting to know each other for the past few weeks and to be honest I really like you. I think we would be perfect for each other. Would you like to be my girlfriend?" Karina responded "If you want to date me you will have to ask my dad for permission" Kelsey stood up and headed directly to her dad. The rest is history <3
