Our Love Story

Our love story began quietly and unexpectedly with a simple message on Instagram. After Brandon saw Addy tagged in a mutual friend’s post, he reached out. Just two days later, on Monday, April 21st, we met for our first date. Brandon picked Addy up and took her to dinner at Aplos Greek Restaurant. Though there were a few nerves at first, they quickly faded as conversation came effortlessly. We talked so long and so deeply that we arrived late to our movie, completely unaware of the time passing. From the very beginning, there was an undeniable connection. That evening, Brandon asked to bless our meal, and in that moment, there was a quiet certainty. Addy knew he was the man she had been praying for, and Brandon felt the same peace in his heart. It was as if the Lord had gently aligned our paths, bringing together two hearts that had been faithfully waiting. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” The very next day, Addy invited Brandon to an Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State baseball game at Trustmark Park (with a special shoutout to Matt & Tina for the free tickets!). Sitting just behind home plate, we laughed and talked as the rain eventually sent us to the top row, where we spent the rest of the game deep in conversation. Ole Miss won, but more importantly, we left knowing something special was unfolding. That first week together felt nothing short of magical. We went on six dates, finding every opportunity to be together. On Thursday, Brandon cooked Addy a filet at his home, quickly winning her over with his cooking skills. On Friday, we went on a double date with dear friends Patrick and Morgan at Gibbes Steakhouse. After dinner, Brandon took Addy to his family’s land in Raymond, where we sat in the back of his truck beneath the stars, talking late into the night. It was there—after only four dates—that Brandon asked Addy to be his girlfriend. In that quiet, sacred moment, surrounded by peace and stillness, it felt as though the Lord was confirming what our hearts already knew. “So they are no longer two, but one.” Nearly eight months later, on Christmas Eve, Brandon brought Addy back to that very same spot on his family’s land. Under the same sky and surrounded by the same peace that marked the beginning, he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. With full hearts and complete certainty, she said yes. What began as a simple message became a love rooted in faith, guided by prayer, and sustained by grace. We are endlessly grateful for the way the Lord wrote our story and for the people who have loved and supported us along the way. As we step into this next chapter, we do so with joy and trust, knowing that the One who began this good work will be faithful to carry it on.
