Travel Note
For those of you visiting New York City, please see below some of our recommendations for activities: Activities: - Statue of Liberty (if not interested in visiting Liberty Island, you can get the free Staten Island Ferry that sails past for a good view) - The High Line - an old railway track that has been turned into a lovely walk along the westside of Manhattan. Start at Hudson Yards and come off at Chelsea Market. - Empire State, One World Trade, The Rockefeller, The Edge or One Vanderbilt - all skyscrapers with spectacular views of the city (recommend doing only one) - Central Park - Walk, bike ride, visiting The Loeb Boat House for lunch or a boat row on the water - Soho - wondering the cobbled streets with an abundance of shops, cafes, and restaurants - Grand Central - stunning views inside and outside the station - 9/11 Memorial Museum - The Metropolitan Museum (MET) - Brooklyn Bridge Walk - from Manhattan to Brooklyn - Dumbo, Time Out Market in Brooklyn
Travel Note
- Prices depend on exact dates so please explore using booking.com. - Times Square/ Hell's Kitchen area tends to be a little cheaper due to being a big tourist site. It is nosier and busier, but has many subway connections around Manhattan. - Midtown is great (as the name suggests) you will be in the center of Manhattan, can walk to Central Park, Grand Central, Fifth Avenue and have easy access to subways downtown. - Soho/Chelsea tends to be a little more expensive due to the quieter and cleaner streets. Lots of boutique hotel options here. - If you plan on exploring Manhattan for only a few days, I suggest not getting a hotel in Brooklyn, Long Island City or New Jersey as it will take a little longer to get in and out and you may have to Uber.
