FAQs

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Check out the Schedule tab to see where else we'll be over the course of the weekend.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We've got a hotel block at the Palmer House downtown (see the Travel tab for more details). There are of course lots of other great hotels in the area. Generally most of them are located either downtown or out in the suburbs/near the airports.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We haven't arranged private transportation because there are so many ways to get around Chicago: car, taxi, Lyft, train, bus, Divvy bike, and walking. Specific instructions for how to get to each location can be found on the Travel tab.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will start at 3pm, so you'll want to be there at least a few minutes early to find the place and get seated. We're going to try and start on time, so somebody make sure Kathleen sees this.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

"Look sharp," says Ashley, but please note the church won't have A/C and the reception will be cocktail style. So make good choices.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We'd prefer it to be just adults because we think you'll have more fun that way and the kids will probably be bored. But if that's going to make it impossible for you to come, please let us know. Chicago Super Sitters is a great resource for those visiting from out of town. They know this might be a bit of a crazy thought to you, especially if you are just visiting Chicago, or if you have never used a babysitter (particularly from an online service!) but you can be assured that all of their sitters are interviewed, reference checked, background checked and fully vetted! They take this process very seriously and are happy to talk you through each step. Please visit the website at www.ChicagoSuperSitters.com to register your family and place the request for the specific date/times needed. They will then set up a call to answer all of your questions.

Question

Where should I grab coffee and something to eat before coming to the Sunday Sendoff?

Answer

Here's a list of some great places for a pick me up that are also right near Millennium Park. There's of course also a Starbucks around every corner, if you're into that. Goddess and the Baker (33 S Wabash) Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea (12 S Michigan) Le Pain Quotidien (20 N Michigan) Stan's Donuts and Coffee (160 N Michigan) Pastoral (53 E Lake) -- opens at 11am
