FAQs

If you have any additional questions,
Question

Where do I need to park for ceremony at your house?

Answer

We are asking all guests to limit the number of cars parked at our house by carpooling with family and friends. In order to do so, we have included some instructions for parking at the public ball fields right behind the Roop House on Victory Ln. It is a short walk between the ball fields and the Roop House for after the reception. In addition, you can park along the roadside if you are not blocking a private residence all around the Roop House. If you are the driver leaving from the Roop House to park at our house, please follow the directional signage and park in the grass to the left of the house. Please allot additional time for these logistics. Thank you for being considerate of our beautiful home and yard and limiting the number of vehicles parked there.

Question

The GPS is showing multiple routes to get to your house, which way should we go?

Answer

Our favorite route from Hwy 5 goes right through the heart of Roopville, GA on S Old Highway 27 to Roopville-Veal Rd. We are asking all of our guests to carpool from the Roop House and Downtown Roopville to our home. Please allot additional time for these logistics.

Question

What should I wear? Is this an indoor or outdoor wedding?

Answer

The official dress code could be described as your "Sunday Best". I would love to see everyone looking snazzy in semi-formal attire. I will be looking forward to seeing floral patterns in both earth tones and sunset colors. As for the guys, feel free to dress up a little with a button up or other dress shirt that compliments your lady's outfit. This will be an indoor and outdoor wedding, so I would expect some temperatures in the higher 70s during the day and low 60s in the evening. Bring a rain jacket! With Georgia weather, you never know what to expect!

Question

Should I bring my kids? Will there be stuff for them to do?

Answer

This is entirely up to you. The ceremony will take place in our yard, so the kids would be free to run around and let off some steam. The Roop House also has some yard area and a playground within the grounds. If the weather turns sour on us, we will have to move the party inside... it may get a little crowded. There will be many antiques, delicate pieces of furniture, and lit candles. We ask that you keep a close eye on your child to prevent any accidents.

Question

What will the food be like?

Answer

We love a good ole' fashioned BBQ dinner. It's homey and downright delicious. We have a menagerie of dishes planned but the main protein will be pulled pork, fresh off the smoker.
