After keeping close eyes on the storm and looking at what the weather will be like... We are still getting married this Saturday! The storm should be well out of our area by the time of our wedding! We hope to see you all there!
We are monitoring Hurricane Delta closely. Once we know more to the definite track, category, & time line of the storm we will make a decision with our Venue and all our vendors on how to handle our wedding this weekend. Let's pray it moves away from us, but we will keep everyone updated on here and Philips Facebook. Thank you!
Louisiana's new proclamation requires masks inside any commercial building. There a few exceptions: masks do not need to be worn while actively eating or drinking and are not required for individuals with a medical exemption. Our venue has stated they will not be asking each guest for proof of medical exemption, if you choose not to wear a mask, they are automatically assuming you have a medical exemption. We understand that joining us for our wedding is not the safe decision for some of our family and friends, we know that if COVID was not an issue, you would be there with us. Please do not risk your health for this occasion. If you choose to still join us we want you to know our venue has options for keeping our loved ones safe: We are offering reserved balcony seating, plexiglass barriers around tables (as an option for those who cannot make it upstairs), tables are all 6' apart, instead of a buffet there will be staff serving the guests, and all employees will wear masks. Because of the threat of COVID, although it is a wonderful tradition, we will not be doing a "Money Dance". We would love to dance with all of our loved ones, but we will have to do it from a safe distance. Our venue has recommended not closely dancing with anyone outside of your family unit in order to reduce the risk of potentially spreading COVID. We know all this sounds like a lot but it truly is for everyone's safety. We have greatly weighed the decision in moving forward with our wedding or postponing. Unfortunately, we do not know what the future holds, when we will be able to go mask free, or when social distancing rules will be relaxed again - and for those reasons we have decided to continue our original plans.
