One night shortly after Victoria graduated college in May 2020, she received a call from her best friend, Gabby. Gabby was hanging out with her now-husband’s family, including his aunt. Jake's aunt told Victoria that her boyfriend had a cute family member her age, who went to Arkansas, and she wanted to set them up together. Victoria agreed and followed him on Instagram, with a quick follow-back by Jason. Under the impression that Jason was aware of this set up, Victoria got impatient and sent the first message: “Did you get the same sales pitch about me that I got about you?” she asked. “No.” he bluntly responded.. With not a single mutual friend connecting the two on social media, Jason thought Victoria was a fake account and disregarded the attempt. Apparently Jake's aunt had not conveyed the match to Jason yet.. Victoria explained the connection and informed him that he would be taking her out once he was back from the lake. From then on they talked non-stop every day until he took her on their first date to North Italia. After a fun summer together in Dallas, Victoria had to move home to Austin for what she thought would be just a few months. A few months turned into 8 months of long distance with countless trips back and forth to see each other. One of those trips included Jason asking Victoria to be his girlfriend at Meso Maya, the night before Halloween. Two years later they got their first apartment together and in May 2025, Jason proposed to Victoria on a rooftop in Downtown Dallas, with close friends and family hidden around the corner, ready to celebrate.
