How We Met

My best friend in college wanted to go to the beach with a guy that she was talking to but she was too afraid to go alone. She asked me to tag along, but I did not want to third wheel. I told her she needed to invite another person as well. She picked up the phone and called Nahuel who agreed to come with us. There was an immediate connection. Just by putting his arm around my chair, he gave me butterflies. While my friend went off down the beach with her crush, Nahuel and I stayed back to toss the football. He was so easy to talk to. So genuine. About a month later, we went to Santa's Enchanted Forest together. He had every intention to ask me to be his girlfriend at the top of the Ferris wheel, but his plans got ruined. He wanted it to be just the two of us, but we got put in a car with another couple. He asked me once we got off! We celebrated that night with chili cheese fries and nitrogen ice cream.

How He Proposed

We wanted to do something different for the Fourth of July. We called up my Parain and asked if we could come visit him in Louisiana. Since my Parain spoils me, he agreed to let us go up to his camp for the weekend. By the time that Nahuel and I both got off of work on Friday 7/3/20 it was already 7 PM. We drove through the night, and got to the camp around 4:30 AM. We knocked out for a few hours and then were ready for a day full of fun. We spent the whole day out on the water tubing, kayaking, and fishing. That night, we were popping fireworks out on the pier. I told him to "be mine forever". To which he responded, "No, be mine forever", and he got down on one knee. It was the easiest yes that I have ever said, and a Fourth of July that we will never forget.
