The DAY has come!

One October weekend John booked a staycation in St. Pete at one of our favorite hotels, The Zamora. John, being the romantic that he is, does this sort of thing often so I didn't suspect anything was out of the ordinary. When in Tampa, we Oxford. This weekend was no different. If you know me, you know I happen to take my sweet ol' time getting ready in the morning. (Unfortunately, I'm not Beyonce' and I most definitely did not wake up like this.) Although that morning I somehow managed to magically get ready in a whopping 45 minutes. It was a celebratory moment for me. Not so much for John, who probably would have appreciated if just this once I took the 2 hours he thought I would. Looking back on that morning, I realize how many times he tried to stall me at every turn. Eventually, we left and were on our way to Oxford. We entered through the bookstore and as usual took a few moments to peruse their collection. John pointed to a book that he was rather surprised to see sitting on one of the tables. "I can't believe they have this book here, my mom used to read this to me when I was a child. You have to read it" John says to me, in pure excitement. Slightly confused as to why he was so excited about this book, I started to read anyway. "The Bears Search" it was called. As I neared the last page I realized the story I had been reading was our story. How we met, how our friendship turned into a relationship and everything along the way. I wish I could put into words the thoughts and feelings that followed the realization that this book was written about us. (I now know John wrote and illustrated the book himself!!) As I flipped to the last page and looked up from the book there was John, on one knee, asking me to marry him!! Let's just say, you wouldn't be here today reading this story, if I didn't say YAAAASSSS!!
