In mid-September, we took a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska. During our stay, we explored several amazing places, but our favorite by far was North Pole, Alaska (yes—that’s really the name of the town!). North Pole is completely wrapped in Christmas spirit year-round. Candy-cane streetlights, holiday décor on every corner, and of course the town’s main attraction: the Santa Claus House. We fell in love with it instantly. On our last night, we decided to visit the Santa Claus House one more time before heading back home to Virginia. After taking a few photos of the building glowing beautifully with Christmas lights, I turned around—and there he was, down on one knee. He proposed! My first responses were, “Are you serious?” and “Are you kidding?” But after asking “Are you serious?” about a hundred times, I finally managed a “Yes!” We immediately called our families to share the exciting news. Below is a picture of the Santa Claus House on the night of our engagement.
