Registry

We feel incredibly fortunate to be celebrating our wedding surrounded by loved ones from many different backgrounds. As this will be a traditional Indian wedding, we wanted to share a little about one of the customs you may encounter. In Indian culture, it is customary to give Shagun—a gift of money—rather than items from a gift list. Shagun is traditionally given in a red envelope, as red symbolises prosperity and good fortune. It’s not about the amount, but rather the gesture, which is meant to bring blessings, joy, and abundance to the couple as they begin their new journey together. We will not be having a wedding registry, and if you wish to honour us with a gift, we would be grateful to receive Shagun in keeping with tradition. Your presence is truly the greatest gift, and we are so excited to celebrate this special day with you.
