On September 6th, 2011, Kevin met Jessica for the first time through a mutual friend in French class. After making her laugh throughout the entire hour and seeing the sweet expression in her smile when she looked at him, Kevin had decided that Jessica would definitely become his first high school romance. Jessica however had other plans and Kevin experienced several failed attempts to ask her out. By senior year Kevin had all but given up hope that they would ever be together. That was until Jessica suggested that they pretended to date as an April Fools prank. Kevin knew if he could just show her how perfectly the two of them fit together, she'd have no choice but to want to date him. His plan worked and from April 2nd, 2015 on, the love that they both shared has only grown. Through long distance relationships, grief and tragedies, and starting a new life together, Kevin and Jessica have triumphed and happily welcome what life will bring them next.

Jessica and Kevin met in Madame Tamomo’s french class freshman year of highschool where Kevin’s humor and whit captured Jessica and led to them being best friends. A series of friend dates senior year led to a more intimate relationship between the two where Jessica learned that talking to and seeing Kevin daily were the things she looked forward to the most. On a whim, Jessica thought it would be funny to prank friends on 4-1-15 as an April Fool’s joke. By the end of the night Jessica realized the joke was on her when she and Kevin decided to make things official on 4-2-15. From then on a love so surreal encapsulated the couple and Jessica had not only a best friend but a soul mate in Kevin Ashwood.

On 12-26-20 Kevin told Jessica that he had a surprise for her as an early birthday present. Jess started her day with a relaxing professional massage. Then Kevin surprised her with a manicure appointment by none other than their good friend Bailey Tate (who is currently one of Jessica's bridesmaids) at her shop. After briefly disappearing Kevin had Jessica meet him in Downtown Detroit and they walked down Campus Martius where they had one of their first "friend" dates when they were in high school. They ended the night with a beautiful hotel room at the Atheneum Suites where Jessica's family were waiting to surprise her. There in front of everyone Kevin gave a heartfelt speech about what Jessica means to him before dropping down on one knee and proposing.
