We recommend flying into Florence, Pisa or Rome. Traveling from Florence to Lucca: - Taxis from Florence airport into Lucca take approximately 1.5 hours - There are frequent direct trains from Florence which take around 1 hour Traveling from Pisa to Lucca: - Taxis from Pisa airport into Lucca take approximately 45 minutes - There are frequent direct trains from Pisa which take around 25 minutes Traveling from Rome to Lucca: - Driving from Rome airport into Lucca take approximately 4 hours by rental car - There are frequent trains from Rome

Travel Note
Lucca is a walled city and private cars are unable to drive into the centre. Jeff and I just made the trip and honestly regretted having a car. Lucca is largely pedestrianised and walking around the city is easy. If you prefer to rent a car for the weekend, there is parking with a fee along the outside of the city walls. The best place for free parking is Piazzale Don Franco Baroni. More central paid parking areas are readily available but be careful of ZTL (limited traffic areas) as they have cameras restricting these parts of the city to residents. Shuttles will be provided for all wedding events. Our planner has advised that taxis are not easy to find in the area near the venue, so we ask guests to plan to use the scheduled shuttles.
