Tale As Old As Time

We met in our high school math class back in 2007. Ariel was on the football team, and I was a cheerleader. HOW ORIGINAL! He and I flirted a little over the years, Ariel walked me to class, I would comb his curly hair during algebra, I even sent him a little gift filled with candy and a note before the big Homecoming game. Still, we were in separate relationships so we stayed good friends. We graduated in 2011, and would still cross paths at a few parties. Ariel tried his luck and asked me out when we were 19, but I wasn’t ready to commit just yet. So we once again remained friends. Our lives continued on. He left for college, and I moved to Fullerton. Almost 8 years later, I was in his area shopping and I remembered he lived close by, so I reached out and ask him if he was free to meet me at the mall to help pick out a gift for my dad. He came and after we got past the initial shock of seeing each other again, he asked me to go have dinner that night. I finally agreed! After a few drinks and a pizookie later, ALL the secrets came out. We admitted we both had tiny crushes throughout high school and never acted on them. So here we are 4 years, an apartment, a dog, and an engagement ring later…..to be continued
